Meet Tay!
Tay Zavala is a professional dancer, instructor, choreographer, and community builder specializing in Egyptian belly dance. With a dance background spanning more than two decades, her training includes ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, ballroom, tap and hip-hop. She has also studied dance at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and Stephens College.
Known for her powerful stage presence, musicality, and approachable teaching style, Tay's goal is to create a welcoming space where dancers of all levels can build confidence, strengthen their technique, and reconnect with their bodies through movement. Her classes blend strong foundations, expressive movement, cultural appreciation, and joyful community.
Tay has taught workshops, classes, and performances throughout the United States and is the creator of Reclaim Your Rhythm, a dance and travel experience designed to help women explore confidence, connection, healing, and self-expression. As a Black woman in belly dance, she is especially passionate about creating opportunities for Black and brown dancers to feel represented, celebrated, and supported.
Beyond the stage, Tay is a content creator, wellness advocate, and mother who uses her platform to share an honest journey of reinvention, resilience, and choosing joy. Through every class, performance, and retreat, her mission is to remind women that movement belongs to them and that they deserve to take up space.
